Barrel stave beer tap handle on silver tap

Barrel Stave Beer Tap Handle

$44.99 AUD

Product Overview

Every keg deserves better than a plastic knob. This Barrel Stave Beer Tap Handle is cut from the end of a genuine reclaimed oak barrel stave, with the charred inner face of the cask left showing on the back — the real thing, not a flaw. The face is finished in matte black chalkboard paint so you can label whatever's on tap and wipe it clean when the keg changes. It threads onto standard beer tap fittings, ready to drop straight onto a kegerator or bar faucet.

Features & Benefits

  • Genuine Reclaimed Oak Barrel Stave: Cut from the end of an authentic stave, with the charred inner face of the cask still showing on the back — real grain, curve and character no mass-made handle can fake.

  • Chalkboard Face: The matte black face wipes clean and re-chalks, so you can name your pour and change it whenever the keg does.

  • Drops Onto Your Setup: Threads onto standard beer tap fittings (3/8″ tap thread) — ready for a home kegerator or bar faucet.

  • One-of-a-Kind by Nature: Width varies with the stave it's cut from, and the char pattern differs on every piece, so no two handles are identical.

  • Text Engraving Available: Add a brewery name, bar name, or short message to the side of the handle (text only, $10).

  • Handcrafted in Australia: Cut, finished and packed by hand from reclaimed timber, not shipped in by the pallet.

Why Choose This Tap Handle

A working kegerator deserves a handle with some history, not a plastic knob. Grab one for your own bar, or hand it over as the gift that turns a home brew setup into a proper talking point. Built to be kept, chalked up, and used for years — not swapped out next season.

Care

Wipe the chalkboard face with a dry or barely-damp cloth to clear the chalk — don't soak it.

Keep the handle out of standing water and out of the dishwasher.

If the oak looks dry over time, a light wipe with oil on any bare timber will bring the grain back. Treated well, it'll outlast the keg many times over.

FAQs

Will it fit my tap?

It's made to thread onto standard beer tap fittings (the standard 3/8″ tap thread), so it suits most home kegerators and bar faucets. If you're unsure, check your shank uses a standard tap thread before ordering.

Can I really write on it and change it?

Yes — the face is genuine chalkboard paint. Chalk your brew, wipe it clean and write the next one as often as you like. A stick of chalk is included.

Is the wood sealed or oiled?

No — deliberately. The handle is left raw apart from the chalkboard face. Oil would seep into the chalkboard surface and stop the chalk from writing, so we leave the oak bare. Keep it dry and it'll last.

What's the charred bit on the back?

That's the genuine toasted, charred inner face of the barrel — the surface that once held the spirit. It's authentic cask character, not damage, and it varies from handle to handle.

Why doesn't mine look exactly like the photo?

Because it's cut from a real, reclaimed barrel stave. Width lands between 40–50mm, and the grain, colour, char and curve vary from one handle to the next. Yours is one of a kind.
